Description / BAKHTIAR 208*330
These rugs are named after one of the oldest and most famous Persian tribes. Bakhtiari carpets are currently being manufactured in about two hundred villages in Southwest Iran. So far, smaller sizes are still produced by nomads, larger sizes being completed in villages workshops. The most famous motive is the so-called garden design - on a square-divided carpet, several times the tree-, flower- or bird pattern is used. Another possible motive is leaf-flower ornamentation, which is very finely worked out. The main colours are white, ivory and red, brown, green and yellow shades. Naturally dyed yarns provide harmonic shades of colour.
