Description / KHAMSEH 104*206
The rugs are made by a tribe from the Turkish descent. It is believed that they settled around Aserbaijan in the 16th century. The patterns are similar to those of North-West and South-Eastern Caucasus. Geometric bird, animal or flower patterns are used on the bordure. The carpets are dark red, brown, pink and blue.
Carpets from the Khamseh confederation are among the most beautiful examples of tribal handknotted rugs.
